Hilda Whitegoat is a Native American artist, born in 1967 into the Navajo Nation, who began crafting pottery at the age of 23. She and her sister Susie are credited with pioneering the art form known today as “Navajo Etched Pottery”. She paints on ceramic pottery, uses a sharp blade to hand etch on the pottery, which she then she fires in a kiln.
