Margo de Taxco Parallel Line blue enamel earrings
Marks - Margot de Taxco; 5397(item design number) on one earring
This is one of Margot's iconic enamel designs from the 1950's. The simple blue enamel Parallel Lines earrings are a nice compliment to the other Parallel Line pieces but are also just gorgeous on their own. This pair of earrings was purchased in the 1950s from her store in Mexico by a collector.
Margot de Taxco, born Margot von Voorhies Carr in San Francisco, moved to Taxco, Mexico, in 1937. She worked with Los Castillo and many of their early pieces show Margot’s unique designs. She was influenced by Mexican, Greek and Japanese art and culture, and designed some of the most stunning hand wrought jewelry, but is best known for her silver and enamel works of art. Margot produced and designed jewelry until the later 1970’s. Her stunning works of art are highly collectible and continue to rise in value.
