Dogon door from first half of 20th Century
These doors usually protected the smaller doors or openings of each family's grain storage building or structure and include a simple sliding lock. Traditional doors such as these are made of 2-3 panels (2 in this case) that are held together by iron fasteners. This carved with primordial beings and ancestors as well as symbols of life.
